COMMISSION ON ALCOHOL AND DRUG DEPENDENCIES
Mission The California Womens Commission on Alcohol and Drug Dependencies (CWCADD) is a statewide grassroots, membership and non-profit organization dedicated to the reduction and prevention of and recovery from, alcohol and other drug related problems among women, their families and their communities through advocacy, education, and community organizing. CWCADD was founded in 1974 in order to provide information and advocacy to expand the services available to women and families affected by alcohol and drug problems. CWCADD currently has eight programs which work towards our mission. All CWCADD projects rely on integrating expert knowledge with community passion to develop systems which prevent and intervene in alcohol and drug related problems. Womens Technical Assistance and Training Project. Through a contract with the State Department of Alcohol and Drug Programs, CWCADD provides consultation and training throughout California to agencies serving alcohol and drug addicted women, especially pregnant and parenting women.
